The bachelor is in constant touch with younger colleagues with whom he/she is obliged to share knowledge, works in the team and therefore needs to have a developed sense for collective work. The bachelor is exposed to stress and physical effort, often working night shifts, and needs to have strong mental, physical and character features. In the application of each diagnostic or therapeutic method of a standard procedure, the bachelor of medical radiology works independently while in the application of additional and modified procedures, the bachelor consults with doctors or works with a team.

Standard procedures which fall into competences of a medical radiology bachelor:

-Admission, informal conversation and patient preparation for a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure

-Selection and preparation of radiological or radiotherapeutic device and equipment

-Planning and selection of variable parameters for performing a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure

-Setting, immobilizing and patient protection during medical tests or a therapy

-Planning, monitoring and conducting a diagnostic or a therapeutic procedure in standard or additional versions, application of modifications in cooperation with a doctor

-Monitoring patient's status during the procedure

-Gathering and presenting dana according to protocol or computer program

-Processing, saving, transfer and documentation of a diagnostic signal or other indicators which are characteristic for the method

-Assisting the doctor with the procedure

-Helping the patient, organizing transfer, informing, preparing picture material for analysis and test description

-Cost calculation, invoice printing, storing administration dana

-Organization of patient admission and performing other necessary jobs and activities related to the patient and the procedure in cooperation with hospital ambulances, departments, clinics or other ambulances and departments of other medical institutions

-Procurement, monitoring and usage of equipment and expendablr medical material

-Monitoring of all devices and processes in the belonging area of work

-Protection of workspace and staff from radiation and infection

-Tracking progress in profession and preparation for adopting new methods

Additional and modified procedures which fall into competences of a medical radiology bachelor:

-Helping planning diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

-Helping with anestetically-assisted or in another way modified methodological approach to patients

-Helping with radiological intervention

-Application of contrast agent and radiopharmaceuticals in doctor's presence

-Setting patient into non-standard and modified positions for medical tests or radiation

-Application of methods of imaging and monitoring in operation halls, emergency rooms and intensive care units

-Application of methods in case of an unconscious patient and those with infectious diseases

-Intervention with pharmaceuticals and resuscitation procedures during unwanted reactions or side effects related to the radiological procedure, according to doctor's instructions

-Monitoring the process of documentation and storage to digital and analog sources, multiplying and copying of imaging material, special means of transfer and data storage.
